Walt Disney
Walt Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5th, 1901. He was one of five children, and lived most of his childhood life in Marceline, Missouri. He had a love for drawing cartoons, and studied for some time at the Chicago Art Institute, although he dropped out of school at 16. He began experimenting with cartoons and filmmaking in 1919, as he loved to entertain and make people laugh. His first studio, "Laugh-O-Grams", was fairly successful in their cartooning endeavors. Admittedly, not for long. After the business went bankrupt, Disney and his brother moved to California to open Disney Brothers studio.
It was there that the iconic film character Mickey Mouse was born, first featuring in the sound-equipped cartoon "Steamboat Willie" in 1927. Walt Disney studios was one of the first animation studios to be credited with success in Hollywood at the time, and has remained a major film production company well into the 21st century. His company has spawned two theme parks, and inspired many young artists like himself to pursue their dreams.
